Support

Unclog finds the photos and videos that take the most space on your iPhone, so you can delete the ones you don’t need and make large videos smaller.

Common questions

I deleted photos and videos, but my iPhone has no more free space.

Photos keeps deleted items in Recently Deleted for 30 days, and they take space there until then. To free the space now, tap Open Photos to empty it, in the sheet Unclog shows after deleting, or open the Photos app, go to Recently Deleted and delete the items there. iOS doesn’t let apps empty Recently Deleted for you.

What does “Only in iCloud” mean?

The item’s original is only in iCloud, so it takes little space on your iPhone. Deleting it frees iCloud storage and removes it from all your devices.

Some photos and videos are missing.

If you allowed access to only some photos, Unclog can see only those. To let it find your largest ones, go to Settings > Apps > Unclog > Photos and choose Full Access. Unclog lists your 25 largest photos and videos, and Show 25 more, under the list, adds more, up to 100. It leaves out hidden photos and shared albums.

How do I stop Unclog from seeing my photos?

Go to Settings > Apps > Unclog > Photos and choose None. iOS restarts the app when you change this. The next time you open Unclog, it deletes from your iPhone what it measured. Your photos and videos stay as they are. Deleting the app also removes what it measured.

How do I make a video smaller?

Open the video full screen and tap Make smaller, in the panel at the bottom. Unclog suggests a lower quality, and shows the new size and the space saved for each one; tap Make smaller to start. The new video keeps its format and sound, when and where it was taken, and its albums. iOS then asks to delete the original, which moves to Recently Deleted. If your iPhone is short of space, Unclog says how much to free first. Your first two videos are free; after that, a one-time purchase unlocks Make smaller.

Slow-motion, Cinematic and spatial videos, videos in formats such as ProRes, and videos synced from a computer can’t be made smaller.

What’s free, and what does the purchase unlock?

Measuring, the map and the list, viewing and deleting are free. Make smaller is free for your first two videos. After that, a one-time purchase unlocks it for good, for any number of videos, with no subscription. The App Store shows the price in your currency before you buy. A video counts as one of the free ones only once it replaces the original: if writing stops, or you keep the original, it doesn’t count. If someone in your family has to approve the purchase, Make smaller unlocks by itself once they do.

I bought Make smaller on another iPhone, or installed the app again.

The purchase belongs to your Apple Account, and Unclog unlocks it by itself on your other iPhones. If it doesn’t, open About and tap Restore purchases. With Family Sharing, the people in your family group get it too.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles the payment, and refunds too: ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I change Unclog’s language?

Unclog shows in English or Spanish, following your iPhone’s languages. To choose a language for Unclog alone, open About and tap Language, which opens Unclog’s settings. About shows Language when your iPhone lists more than one language in Settings > General > Language & Region.

Does Unclog upload my photos?

No. Unclog works on your iPhone and sends nothing about you or your photos over the internet. The Privacy Policy explains the details.

Requirements

Unclog needs an iPhone with iOS 27 or later.
